About Me
I am Imad Buljić, a Software Engineer and Researcher based in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I currently work as a full time team lead software engineer and study at the University of Zenica where I am pursuing my Master's degree.
My work focuses on bridging the gap between theoretical software engineering concepts and practical, high-performance applications. I have a special interest in cloud, distributed systems, and ML.
I started writing research work at 20, and at 22 I’m still driven by the same thing: challenges, fast learning, and measurable progress. I enjoy sharing knowledge with others as much as learning from them, through collaboration, mentoring, and engineering discussions. Somewhere along the way I also picked up the Rector's and Dean's awards for academic excellence, which is nice, but not really the whole point.
Life Outside Code
Outside of engineering, I try to live with the same mindset: stay curious,
do a lot of things, but do them with intent. I believe you can accomplish
a surprising amount when your priorities are clear and when you give full
attention to whatever you’re doing in that moment.
I enjoy learning with others and exchanging knowledge through mentoring, collaboration,
and honest technical discussions. I also volunteer with BHFF because I wanted
to leave a positive impact beyond code and support meaningful community work.
Back in the day I also practiced football and karate. In karate, I earned
a black belt and represented my country numerous times. These days I love
to workout and do hard stuff (#davidGoggins).
Other than that, I have a lot of hobbies. Like, a lot of unrelated
hobbies. Photography, cosplay, fitness, anime, conferences, volunteering,
and whatever else I randomly decide to take seriously for a while.
